Over-Crowding

It has been over a year now since I submitted a turn-key, ready to use “occupancy affidavit” that tightened the screws on the over-crowding problem. The “affidavit” idea was received well and received considerable coverage in the local press on the heals of public hearings regarding over-crowding and the city’s parking problems.

You may recall that, one of the mayor’s first official acts was to remove the “occupancy affidavit” as a required document in the building department. Many residents expressed their outrage by this action. Cynics pointed to the mayor’s action as a payoff to his largest campaign contributors, the realtors.

At the time I presented the solution, the mayor expressed his disapproval and sent it to his law department where it has been buried ever since. Should we JUMP to any conclusions?
